Artist Statement
"A lot of my artwork is a reflection of my view of the world around me at a specific time. It is meant to capture not only a large part of myself, but to instill a piece of the viewer in their interpretation at that moment, memory, and interaction as well. I love hearing people's first reactions to what they think about a piece of artwork; I think it says a lot about them. That's part of how I view art as a whole, how the artist themself interacts with it vis a vis the work interacting with the outside world, and the unique dynamic that creates. I enjoy creating work for myself, collaborative efforts, and individual projects for clients. My current style and content influences are surrealism, magical realism, and often the desert. I started my art journey as a way to navigate and understand my strong emotions and anxieties when going through tough times. Now I use it to go deeper within concepts, experiences and questions of life to help not only with creative fields of application but practical work in everyday communications."

Jillian has done several exhibitions showcasing work, and was published in the Brushfire Literature and Arts Journal 71st edition (2019). Her first solo exhibition was at First Friday Las Vegas arts and culture festival (2019), and has showcased in other groups such as Let It Shine, a Black History Month Art Show, University of Nevada Reno (2019), Young Blood, The Holland Project. Reno, NV (2019). The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, The Springs Preserve. Las Vegas, NV (2018).
